FRXN Privacy Policy

Effective September 15, 2026. Covers the FRXN Chrome extension, including version 1.1.2.

The short version

FRXN processes and stores your check-ins, settings, and optional cycle history on your device. The extension does not send this information to FRXN or operate a server that receives it. You control your records, including exports, backups, and deletion.

Information the extension handles

FRXN uses information you enter and limited information from supported shopping pages to provide its checkout check-in and personal record:

  • Your selected emotion, shopping trigger, body signal, and decision: planned purchase, buying, editing your cart, or walking away. Questions can be skipped.

  • The retailer's hostname, check-in date and time, and a record identifier.

  • A cart or order amount and currency, when detected or entered, and whether the amount was detected or edited. An item description is stored if you enter one.

  • Settings such as your usual currency, display preferences, receipt start date, reading progress, and check-in milestones.

  • The hostnames or site-access patterns of additional stores you authorize.

On sites it has permission to access, FRXN examines the page address and checkout-related page elements to identify checkout pages. It reads visible cart/order totals and currency information when available. FRXN does not capture payment-card fields, passwords, addresses, or a copy of the whole page. It does not maintain a general browsing-history log; saved check-ins include the retailer's hostname.

This information is handled locally even though it is not sent to us.

How your information is used

FRXN uses your records to show your dashboard, walk-away receipt, emotion chart, recent Spend Signature, and images you choose to save or share. Cart values are recorded estimates, not verified savings. A usual-currency preference is a fallback for new check-ins when a currency cannot be identified; it does not convert currencies.

FRXN does not sell your extension data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness. Its use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: information is used only for the extension's disclosed features.

Optional cycle calendar

Cycle information is health information. Cycle tracking is off by default. If you enable it, FRXN stores the period start dates, usual cycle and period lengths, and display preferences you enter. These support your private calendar and the days since your latest recorded start.

Phase estimates require a separate opt-in and are labeled as estimates. They pause after your usual cycle length passes until you record a new start. They do not confirm ovulation or provide guidance for pregnancy prevention. FRXN does not currently calculate relationships between cycle phases and spending.

Turning cycle tracking off hides the calendar and retains its recorded dates. You can correct or remove individual starts. Use Delete cycle data to remove cycle dates and settings while keeping spending check-ins.

Storage and network activity

Persistent records live in Chrome's local extension storage. Temporary state used to coordinate check-ins and protect against stale saves is held in memory or Chrome's session storage. FRXN does not use Chrome's storage-sync service for these records.

The extension's runtime makes no outbound network requests. Its code and fonts are bundled; it has no analytics, tracking pixels, crash-reporting service, or remote code. FRXN has no access to the records stored in your browser.

Chrome still uses the internet to install and update extensions, and shopping websites make their own network requests. These are separate from FRXN's local processing. Device backups, shared access to your computer, and files you export are governed by your device and storage settings. FRXN does not add a separate password or encryption layer to local records or exported files.

Permissions

  • storage: Saves check-ins, cycle history, settings, and temporary session state on your device.

  • Host access to supported retailers: Detects checkout pages and reads available cart totals and currencies, then displays the check-in. Access is limited to the sites authorized in Chrome.

  • activeTab: Lets FRXN identify the current site when you open the extension so Settings can offer Add current site as a store.

  • scripting: Runs bundled checkout/check-in code on stores you add and refreshes bundled scripts in open supported retail tabs after an extension update.

  • Optional site access: When you choose Add current site as a store, Chrome asks permission for that hostname. FRXN begins detecting checkout there only after permission is granted. Previously authorized store access is retained across updates. You can manage or revoke site access through Chrome's extension settings.

FRXN does not request access to every website by default. Revoking site permission does not delete check-ins already saved for that retailer.

Your control and retention

Records remain on your device until you delete them or Chrome removes the extension's storage.

  • CSV export: Downloads your check-in records to a file you choose to keep.

  • JSON backup and restore: Backups include check-ins, cycle history, and settings. Restore merges check-ins and period starts with existing records. Optional site permissions must be granted through Chrome; importing a file does not grant site access.

  • Share images: Images are generated on your device. If you save or share an image yourself, its contents are available wherever you choose to send or store it.

  • Delete cycle data: Removes cycle dates and settings independently of spending records.

  • Reset all data: Removes the extension's stored records and settings. There is no FRXN server copy to recover.

  • Uninstall: Removing FRXN removes its local extension storage from that Chrome profile.

Deleting or uninstalling FRXN does not delete CSV files, JSON backups, saved images, or copies held by your device's backup service. Delete those separately where you saved them. We cannot recover data you delete unless you have kept your own backup.

The website, newsletter, and support

The frxn.app website is separate from the extension and does not receive your check-ins or cycle history. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use the email address you provide to send it; you can unsubscribe using the link in the email. If you contact support, we receive the address and information you choose to include in your message. You do not need to send your check-in or cycle records to use the extension.

The website is hosted by Squarespace, which processes information needed to serve its pages under its own privacy policy: Squarespace privacy policy. The extension's no-network design does not apply to visiting the website or using email.

Changes and contact

We will post policy changes on this page with an updated effective date. A policy update alone does not transmit records already stored on your device.
