FRXN Privacy Policy

Effective July 3, 2026. Covers the FRXN Chrome extension, version 1.0 and later. This is the source text for frxn.app/privacy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures.

The whole policy in three sentences

FRXN stores your data on your device and nowhere else. The extension makes zero network requests, so we have no way to see, collect, or sell anything. You can export or erase everything, anytime.

What FRXN stores (locally, on your device)

When you complete a check-in at checkout, FRXN saves to Chrome's local storage on your computer:

  • The emotion you tagged and the body signal you selected

  • Your decision (walked away, bought it, or planned purchase)

  • The retailer's domain name (e.g. sephora.com) and an estimated purchase amount read from the page, when one is visible

  • The date and time of the check-in

If you turn on cycle tracking (it is off by default), FRXN also stores the period start date and cycle length you enter. FRXN additionally stores your settings and which Learn articles you've read.

Where that data lives, and where it doesn't

All of it lives in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. None of it is transmitted, synced, uploaded, or shared with us or anyone else. There is no backend behind the extension, and it contains no analytics, crash reporting, tracking pixels, or third-party code. Even the fonts are bundled inside the extension, so installing and using FRXN generates no network traffic at all.

We cannot see your data. Not "we choose not to look." There is no mechanism by which it reaches us.

About cycle data specifically

Cycle information is health information, and we treat it that way: it is opt-in, stored only on your device, used only to display your current phase alongside your spending data, and deleted the moment you use "Reset all data" or uninstall the extension. It is never transmitted anywhere, under any circumstances.

Why FRXN asks for the permissions it does

  • Storage: to save your check-ins and settings on your device.

  • Access to listed retail sites: to show the check-in overlay at checkout and read the order total from the page. FRXN runs only on the retail domains listed in its manifest, not on the whole web. It does not read, collect, or store page content, browsing history, or anything you type.

Your control

  • Export: download every check-in as a CSV file from Settings. Your data is yours to take.

  • Erase: "Reset all data" in Settings permanently deletes everything, immediately.

  • Uninstall: removing the extension deletes all FRXN data from Chrome.

What we never do

We do not sell, share, or profile your data, and we run nothing that measures you. We could not even if we wanted to, because your data never reaches us. We built it that way on purpose.

The frxn.app website

If you join the newsletter on frxn.app, you give us your email address, and we use it to send you the weekly article. That is the only thing we use it for, and you can unsubscribe with one click. The website does not receive anything from the extension.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at frxn.app/privacy with a new effective date. Because the extension has no way to reach your device, a policy change can never retroactively affect data stored there.
